Robert Maguda, Director of Commercialization
Mr. Maguda has served on national review boards to evaluate and recognize manufacturers for their performance and significant industry accomplishments. Prior to founding Novomont Partners, he formed and led a global consulting practice for EDS Corporation and served as a senior member of McKinsey & Company’s global operations practice. Before entering the arena of industry consulting, Mr. Maguda held divisional management positions at Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation), Gould Inc., Brown-Boveri, and Honeywell. He is a graduate in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. Specific relevant career experience includes:
- Instituted new collaborative practices and modified the project management process of a major food company, so it could implement its $1 billion annual capital budget for 15% fewer engineering hours than in prior years
- Served as the architect and executive liaison for a supply management program that is expected to generate at least $2 billion in value through supplier consolidation, formal alliances, and global sourcing
- Designed a value-added services company, building upon the installed base of $4 billion company that produced processing machinery

- Developed and deployed a corporate-wide program for productivity and quality improvement at a $7 billion box-board manufacturer
- Reconfigured the multi-plant operations of a machinery component producer
Dr. Fred M. Persi, Director of Software Development
Dr. Persi played several key roles in creating the world’s most experienced laser scanning service corporation, with leadership responsibilities over evaluation, design, calibration, validation, testing, and quality assurance of laser ranging systems and software products. This company was a direct outgrowth of a DARPA SBIR contract for which he served as Principal Investigator.
Dr. Persi is heavily involved in end-use applications for lidar technology for industrial and civil metrology. These systems have been deployed to hundreds of job sites around the world and have successfully collected metrology and visual imagery for dozens of domestic and international clients since 1998.
In addition to civilian applications, Dr. Persi was a Project Scientist for and supervised custom development of lidar scanning systems for military reconnaissance under two separate U.S. Government programs, UrbanRecon and Urban Scope.
Dr. Persi holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Princeton University (1994). He has published in the areas of software engineering, machine vision, high energy physics, cosmology, and astronomy. He holds several patents/patents pending in lidar scanning. He is currently a member of the ASTM committee E57 on 3D Imaging Systems (Laser Scanners).
Jim Osterloh, Director of Technology Integration
Mr. Osterloh has more than 20 years of experience in technology development and large-scale technology integration project management.
Mr. Osterloh was a Senior Vice President at Green Power, Inc., where he served as Chief Engineer of a forthcoming technology that converts solid hydrocarbon into liquid fuels and residual electric power.
Mr. Osterloh was a Vice President at Parsons Corporation, where he served as founding director of the Parsons Technology Complex, a fabrication shop specializing in first-of-its-kind technology development.
A former navy nuclear engineer and submariner, Mr. Osterloh has a track record of managing projects that integrate development of emergent technologies with sales, marketing and job growth. He holds seven U.S. patents and has nine additional patents pending.
